Assualt Gun

The Assault Gun is a powered-up, handheld version of the Gatling tower. However, due to its high power, it has a tendency to overheat during prolonged use. It is equipped with a grenade launcher as secondary fire. The Assault Grenade's explosion has a radius of more than one tower width, and excels at eliminating smaller enemies in large, compact groups.

Usage and strategy Edit

In the beginning the Assault Gun does not feel like it packs anywhere near the punch of the Sniper. However a quick look at the DPS shows it can more than keep up with a Sniper that is only doing base damage (4 crit shots in a row is another matter entirely).

The Assault Gun has fairly quick cooldown. In the time it takes to switch to the Freeze Gun, fire a slow or freeze shot, and switch back the Assault Gun will almost be ready to be fired again. It takes a relatively long time to overheat even with constant firing. The Assault Gun's heat capacity also increases with higher level. Good accuracy is not as important as with the Sniper, making the Assault Gun easier to use. Splash damage from the secondary fire grenade launcher is extremely effective against Runners and useful against enemies without armor, especially if they are clumped together.

The Assault Gun can also be used to "grenade jump" by simultaneously jumping and firing its grenade at your feet.
